The good news about global warming is that we’ve been here before, and the earth survived. According to the Pliocene Research, Interpretation and Synoptic Mapping (PRISM) group, led by the U.S. Geological Survey, the mid-Pliocene experienced the most extreme warming over the past 3.3 million years.
